With an educational background in music, Sara Koenig might seem an unlikely project manager for Nature’s Image. In fact, she’s worked hard — starting as a receptionist in the corporate world, working as assistant project manager for several homebuilders, and currently as Director of Administration for Natures Image.
Making a difference
Sara has settled in happily at Natures Image. “I’ve stayed here because we are making a difference in the environment, and our hard work has a positive outcome for nature.” Beyond that, she likes the camaraderie and the “supportive and down-to-earth management.” Says Sara, “My detailed nature is appreciated and utilized by the company. The staff I work with is fun. We buckle down and get work done but know how to have fun and laugh as well.”
Music remains an important part of her life. The Huntington Beach resident sings in a choir that has performed at such varied places as Carnegie Hall, Hollywood Bowl, Dodger Stadium, Paris and Austria. A dedicated Dodger fan, Sara also enjoys quality time with family, and playing and snuggling with Caesar, her cat.
Going with your gut
Sara’s work benefits from her ability to consider the “what ifs,” which helps her plan ahead and predict potential conflicts before they arise.
What lessons has she learned over the course of her career?
Trust my instincts and don’t let people talk me into something I don’t feel comfortable with. I only seem to regret choices I made that didn’t feel right from the beginning.
Don’t worry about being embarrassed. Don’t worry what others think. Just have fun.
